Leaving emergency egress too narrow or hidden behind ticket tables, vendor lines, or décor.
When a crowd surges or an alarm goes off, people don’t hunt for a path; they push toward the nearest opening. I’ve seen that turn a calm setup into a bottleneck in seconds, with someone tripped, pinned, or shoved against a barricade. Once that happens, the event host owns a real liability problem, especially if responders have to fight through the same choke point.
We place temporary gates and leave clear exit lanes that stay visible from the crowd side.
